This project involved designing a customization product." The goal was to transform a complex set of manufacturing variables, including blade steel types, bolster materials, handle woods, and multi-location engraving, into a seamless, thumb-friendly mobile experience. The solution utilizes a stepped selection logic that provides real-time feedback on price updates and visual changes, ensuring users feel confident in their custom creation before hitting "Add to Cart."

The design solves the "paradox of choice" by nesting deep customization options (like engraving) within clean, accessible modals and using visual thumbnails for material selection to reduce cognitive load.

Constraints:

Logic Complexity: Managed intricate dependencies (like material-specific rules) to prevent user errors without cluttering the UI.
Personalization UX: Integrated multi-location engraving options into mobile-friendly modals to maintain a clean main workspace.
